Alpha Protocol is coming out 6/1.  Its a espionage rpg.  Its being developed by Obsidian, who did KOTOR2, Neverwinter Nights 2 and is currently developing Fallout 3: Las Vegas, which is coming out this fall.

Dont know much about the game except that its taken place in a modern setting and is an RPG about spys and black ops type operations.  The premise has some promise in my opinion, but to early to tell if the gameplay will be worth it.

Have you played Mass Effect 2 or Fable 2?  Both were great games.  Fable 2 you might be able to get via the xbox marketplace and $20 or $30.

If you have a PC computer, and want a great diablo clone, I would highly recommend a cheap game called Torchlight.  I am pretty sure you can play that on an older PC so you dont have to worry about system spec. I have seem it as cheap as $5.

np. try fable 2 or torchlight then.

oh there is fallout 3 too which is a huge epic rpg.  dont know if you played this yet but that one game with all its great dlc can keep you busy for over a 100 hours easily.  But of course that also isnt fantasy.

there is also final fantasy 13 if you want to try a jrpg.

Jason and I and several guys we've been friends with for 25 damn years have started playing D&D again. Good times.

I can vouch for Torchlight, get it via Steam if you want, doesn't take much of a computer to run.  Jason has always been a FInal Fantasy addict way back since FF1 on the NES. He mentioned this one was a bit tough for a while, cause you have to play for a LONG time (like 5-10 hours) before you really get to explore the world on your own. But apparently, once it's open, it's great.

He can't get on here much anymore because he pretty much only gets on the computer at work and they've blocked XNC.

Anyway, there's your Jason update for the month :)

Last night my 13 year old daughter asked

"Dad, were you one of those losers who played D & D when you were in High School?"

to which my wife replied

"He was one of those losers who played it when we were married."

to which I replied

"I am one of those losers who would play it NOW if I could just get a group together.

awesome!  I spent many nights playing D&D with my friends in high school.  Shouldn't have been surprised when my son started playing when in high school!
